A personal reflection from Martha’s Vineyard—and a powerful mid-year mindset reset
Right now, I’m sitting on the porch in Martha’s Vineyard with a cup of coffee in hand, listening to the birds and soaking in the summer breeze. My partner Ken and I are here for a mix of work and play—we just hosted an AI VIP Day for a wonderful client, and now we’re enjoying a little family vacation.
These quiet mornings have been a gift. They’ve given me space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what really matters: my life, my loved ones, my business, and the bigger picture.
It’s in these moments that I’m reminded why I launched my business in the first place: to make a meaningful impact *and* to create freedom—on my terms.
Over the past thirteen and a half years as an entrepreneur, I’ve experienced both alignment and misalignment. So this morning, I decided to journal two simple lists:
1. When I have felt free and on purpose
2. When I have felt stuck and overwhelmed
The act of writing them out was eye-opening.
I realized that most of the things on the “stuck and overwhelmed” list are no longer a major part of my life (though one or two still linger), and many of the items on the “free and on purpose” list are things I’m now consciously working toward in the second half of this year.
Then I took it a step further.
I opened ChatGPT, pasted in both lists, and asked:
“Knowing what you know about me, what do you recommend I focus on to create more of that freedom and purpose feeling?”
And the insights that came back? Absolute gold.
So, I wanted to share this process with you, in case you’re feeling the need for a reset—or just a deeper check-in with yourself as we begin the second half of the year.
Here’s what I suggest:
Find a quiet moment for yourself.
Journal your own two lists:
- When I’ve felt free and on purpose
- When I’ve felt stuck and overwhelmed
Then ask ChatGPT:
“Knowing what you know about me, what do you recommend I focus on to create more of that freedom and purpose feeling?”
(Pro tip: This works best if you’ve enabled “Memory” in ChatGPT under Settings > Personalization.)
If you try this, I’d love to hear what insights you receive. Share them with me by replying here or tagging me on social. Let this be your mid-year moment to realign with what you actually want.
With love and purpose,
Amy
